Before becoming the legend known as Batman, there was just a man named Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale). He grew up to become the heir to the Wayne fortune, the wealthiest family of Gotham City. Unlike other wealthy people of Gotham, the Wayne family tried to fight off poverty in their city by helping rebuilt it. One night at the opera, Bruce’s fear of bats forces his parents to leave the show. In the alleyway outside of the opera, Bruce’s parents are being mugged and end in their death, same as Joker from 123Movies. Throughout his childhood, Bruce’s guilt of forcing his parents to leave the opera house begins to be outweighed by his anger of not being able to do anything to prevent it. Now older, Bruce travels the world to better understand the mind of the criminal. In his travels, he meets Henry Ducard (Liam Neeson) who takes Bruce under his wing and teaches him the ways of “The League of Shadows”. With his training Bruce decides to return to Gotham and shows the citizens that their town does not belong to the criminals and corrupt. During the he is Bruce Wayne local billionaire of Gotham City, but by night he dons the cape and cowl to become Batman.

As Bruce perfects his alter ego, he finds he has many allies.

His loyal butler Alfred Pennyworth (Michael Caine) provides the only sense of family for Bruce and supports him in Bruce’s crusade around Gotham. In order to become Batman, Bruce needs equipment to battle criminals and Lucius Fox is able to provide Bruce with every set of equipment he needs. In a town corrupt to its core, James Gordon (Gary Oldman) and Rachael Dawes (Katie Holmes) tries to fight back with no avail. Now teaming with Batman saving Gotham seems tangible, but Dr. Jonathan Crane (Cillian Murphy) has plans to destroy Gotham. Now Bruce must face something more than just street thugs, he must now face a force to be reckoned.

With big-name directors being attached to superhero films like Sam Raimi, Bryan Singer and Guillermo del Toro, it seemed that studios would be aiming for a big named director. The director to helm “Batman Begins” would be none other than Christopher Nolan. Nolan at the time had only three films under his name, “Following”, “Memento” and “Insomnia” was a big risk the studio was taking. In turn it paid off tremendously, Nolan gave fresh life into Batman. I was the biggest fan of Tim Burton’s Batman film but after seeing “Batman and Robin” I lost faith in the Batman franchise. I didn’t see this in a theater which is one of my biggest regrets. The way this and Tim Burton’s Batman is different is that Nolan tried and succeeded in-ground Bruce Wayne’s world in reality. Nolan tries to ground everything from the Batmobile to the Batsuit and the Batcave in the real world. With one of the greatest ensemble cast for a superhero genre film, Nolan delivers a near perfect film.

There weren’t much to complain about, the camera work for the fight scenes need to be fixed.

When major fights break out the camera spins around and gets crowded with the fighters and it’s nearly impossible to see who is throwing the punch and who is kicking. Not a major complaint but I wish there was more screen time with The Scarecrow. I love Cillian Murphy and wished there was more of him becoming The Scarecrow. Other than these small critiques “Batman Begins” is the best way of reintroducing Batman to a new generation and giving the proper respect need to a rising filmmaker known as Christopher Nolan. It comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
